Dolphins, porpoises and a basking shark have been spotted and for the bird watcher there is great variety, from buzzards to gannets. As these can be seen from your bedroom, binoculars are provided.

Our house was built about 50 years ago and has gardens of about a third of an acre. Garden seats and decking are available for relaxing and enjoying the view and sunshine or the warmth of a summer evening with the distant sounds of the sea in the background.

With the assistance of our guests we try to be as environmentally sound as possible in the use of energy, water and recycling. We purchase locally produced food such as jam, eggs, kippers, sausages, and flour for home made bread. We use Fairtrade tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits and muesli. Wildlife is encouraged and we have nesting boxes and bird feeders in the garden which remains relatively untamed to provide a natural habitat. Stoats, a badger, foxes and hedgehogs have been seen as well as about 20 varieties of birds.

We were Finalists in the Cornwall Sustainable Business Awards and achieved Bronze in the Cornwall Sustainable Tourism Awards. In 2006 we are working towards Green Tourism Accreditation.

In 2005 we were given a Silver Award by VisitBritain.
